Sports
Having now been in the US of A for close to 8 years I am pretty much deep into American professional sports.
The one that I follow most closely is the NFL since it has the shortest season and at one game a week it is much easier to keep up with. My team of choice is the Minnesota Vikings since I lived there for 5 years. I kind of track what the Twins and T'Wolves are up to as well and have some passing interest in Golden Gopher football. This year (2004) I won the office fantasy football championship showing extraordinary prescience in picking Brian Westbrook and to a lesser extent Peyton Manning.
By virtue of my fellow desis I am not completely cut off from cricket but the never ending series of one-dayers means it is difficult to focus.
I don't watch tennis anywhere near as avidly as I did back in th 80's in India when it was really the only international sports on TV. But Roger Federer has restored my interest in the game, I think truly he is a magician like McEnroe (and to a far lesser extent Ramesh Krishnan) was.
I find it amazing that Americans find him "boring" too. Just goes to show that they have no idea what is good.
